Bar / Shaft Straightening
At GSI, we straighten, bar stock in 12' or 20' lengths. We can straighten new shafts or shafting in solid bar or tube type. We also do repair/straightening of shafts taken out of service for maintenance etc. When making precision shafting, the straightness of the shaft is the key. Our equipment and methods can produce very good, precision, straight shafts.
Shaft diameter capacities range from 1/8" to 3" to a maximum length of 20 ft. Shaft materials from alloy steels, stainless steels, tool steels, aluminum, brass and bronze. We can straighten to tolerances of .002" per ft. and re-polish the shaft to better than new tolerances.
